About the School
A neighbourhood school in Lar with a simple promise: every child is known by name, and every child makes visible progress.
Pioneer Academy was founded to give the families of Lar and the surrounding villages of Deoria district a school they would not have to send their children away to find. We follow the CBSE pattern of teaching and assessment, and our academic plan is built around the National Education Policy 2020.
What we are today
The school currently runs the Foundational and Preparatory stages - from the pre-primary years through Class V. Classes are deliberately small so that a teacher can sit beside a child who is struggling with a letter or a number and stay there until it clicks.
Where we are going
Our development plan takes the school forward one stage at a time, adding the Middle stage (Classes VI to VIII) and then the Secondary and Senior Secondary stages (Classes IX to XII), with the building, laboratory and staffing requirements met before each stage opens rather than after. Families who join us at the foundational stage are joining a school their child can finish.
How we teach
Learning here is activity-first. Children handle beads and blocks before they handle worksheets, learn in their home language alongside English in the early years, and are assessed continuously rather than through a single frightening examination. Every classroom has a reading corner, and every week has time set aside for art, music, games and time outdoors.
